What is the best big game hunting bullet in these calibers?

I am wondering what the best factory ammo is for hunting big game in both of these calibers.

Game I will be hunting : Moose

I am wondering about the Winchester XP3 150gr for the 308 and the Winchester XP3 150gr for the 06. What is your opinion - I want a premium bullet.

Sure that will work but its not the best choice at all. Moose require a heavy deep penetrating bullet with controlled expansion. For 30-06 a 165 gr or 180 gr controlled expansion bullet would be much better. For .308 a 165 gr, 170gr or 180gr controlled expansion round would be good.

A 180 gr bullet will drive deeper than a fast 150 gr bullet. The problem with some fast expanding 150 gr bullets is they may not go deep enough for a fast kill. However if your shot is right in the lung heart area a 150 gr bullet will kill the moose. Lots of moose ended up in a freezer from that round. But because I have seen it fail to anchor a moose quickly I won鈥檛 use it.
I once saw a terrible video of two hunters shooting a moose. The animal was hit over twenty times (I'm not kidding) and didn't collapse. It was obvious the animal was "dead" and just didn't know it. In other words, the bullets had not hit the brain or heart/lungs and probably hadn't broken major bones. The lesson is, to kill a heavy (1500 plus pounds) animal you need a bullet that will penetrate, break major bones and do significant deep-tissue damage. So the heavier bullet would be preferred over the lighter bullet and 180 gr bullets would be better than 150 gr bullets. Next, bullet placement is at least as important as bullet weight. I've killed two moose, both with one shot. The first was a 180 gr .30 caliber (300 Weatherby Magnum) at about 100 yards. Hit him in the heart. He just collapsed. The second was a 300 gr. .375 H %26amp; H Magnum, about 150 yards, also a heart shot. Also collapsed. I suspect shot placement was as important as bullet weight. What is the best big game hunting bullet in these calibers?
I agree with others that a 150 grain in anything but a barnes tsx bullet would be a bad choice. For the 308 here are your best options. 165 grain barnes tsx, 168 federal trophy bonded tip high energy(2880 fps and over 3000 ftlbs of energy) Hornady superformance 165 grain gmx or 165 grain interbond(interbond over 3000 ftlbs of energy) and last and probably the best, federal high energy 180 grain nosler partition(again over 3000 flbs) Most of these same bullets are available in a 30'06 just add 50 to 100 fps to the ammo. None are cheap but the 180 grain partition can be had online for under 30 dollars a box. Everything else will be in the 30 to 45 dollar range. Forgot one, IF I was hunting moose this would be the round I would use.
