Which are better for hunting with Winchester or Ruger rifles?

I am trying to decide which one is best all around. Which one has less of a kick back on firing? Which one has more of a clean kill on hunting game? This would be for a single barrel rifle with a scope on long range targets.Which are better for hunting with Winchester or Ruger rifles?
Ruger --- All the way..... Rugers are made in USA.... Winchesters are not.... Ruger Makes an excellent product and you will be keeping people employed here in the USA......



I have 6 Ruger rifles and they have never disappointed me...... The Remington's are and excellent choice also.....
it's not the gun maker that matters for kick and a clean kill. A clean kill is reliant on you being a good shot and using a powerful enough cartridge, and how much kick is also dependant on what cartridge you use.



Winchester and Ruger are like Ford and Chevy. You can't really ask "what goes faster? a Ford or a Chevy?" because the specific type of car matters. Are you talking about the Ford Mustang or the Ford Ranger pickup?



Now, if you ask 'what goes faster a sports car or a pickup truck' then it doesn't really matter if the sports car is Ford or Chevy, or if the pickup is Ford or Chevy.



Pickup = good for pulling your boat

Sportscar = good for going fast and fast turns.



A winchester model 70 chambered to fire 30-06 ammuntion or a Ruger model 77 chambered to fire 30-06 are going to be identical in all the ways you ask about.



A winchester model 70 chambered for 243 or a winchester model 70 chambered for 338 winmag, those are going to have a heck of a different amount of kick, but both have the power to give a clean kill if you hit the vitals. Unfortunately, both won't deliver a clean kill if you shoot the animal in the rump.Which are better for hunting with Winchester or Ruger rifles?
At this time I would buy the Ruger. Winchester is in and out of business.



As to recoil, both will have the same effective recoil with the same cartridge. As Newton said, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The bullet goes one way, the gun goes the other.



Now the question becomes, what cartridge do you want to use. That will depend on what you want to hunt. Rabbits in the Kalifornia desert take a different cartridge than bear in the Minnesota woods.

Ruger and Winchester both make fine rifles in any and all calibers imaginable. You could not go wrong with a Ruger 77, or a Winchester model 70, or a Remington 700 in it's various sizes and styles. Best one is the one you are comfortable with and you trust in your own hands. It is truly your own decision, we can only tell you what we think, which equals only an opinion less valid than your own.
